This song was written entirely from scratch, using a midi keyboard, VSTs in Ableton Live 9, and my own recorded samples. …It was written specifically for this competition! I’ve gone for a fun and slightly funky summer song, with a catchy beat.

I’m influenced by many genres. However, wanting to be sympathetic to its excellent original, I thought it would be good fun to try a jazzy feel, with a hint of funk. Enjoy this chilled version, with a new melody and percussion 🙂 With thanks to Le Vab for a critical ear!
Completed the Philips Golden ear challenge!
I completed the Golden Ears challenge successfully… Not easy to complete, but a great way to learn and or test your listening skills. There is actually quite a noticeable difference between low and high quality MP3s…Â More tricky was the tests requiring higher frequency listening, most people do not have hearing up to full 16KHz, very much age dependent.
UPDATE: Sadly this fantastic audio test is no longer available…

Created an internalised feel for this Electronica dance style track, I think I could have opened the sounds up better, more dynamic range. But still nice with the melody.
