My music writing tends to be very organic and abstract, influenced by many genres, but outputs are often Electronica in nature. Inspired (and containing a fair number of samples) by the Converse Rubber Tracks Sample Library: IHEARTCOMIX All-Stars Session, this ended up becoming an Electronica Trip-Hop fusion. Enjoy!

My remixing tends to be very organic and abstract, influenced by many genres, but outputs are often electronica in nature. With a touch of Mr.James on Bass (Converse Rubber Tracks Sample Library) Enjoy!

Wanted to create a funky jazzy track and blend the bass played by both the wonderful Anna Sentina and Brandon Eugene Owens (Samples courtesy of the Converse Rubber Tracks Sample Library). I’m influenced by many, predominately Electronica artists. The result is an Electronica, Jazz and Funk fusion.

Really like the original track, so this was a difficult one to remix. I thought I would go for some softer sounds with added dynamics. Added new melody and new baseline, but kept the bounce!

Romans – Uh Huh (Doctrus Remix)

Really enjoyed remixing this track, it has a great melody and I wanted to take it in a slightly different direction. I’m influenced by many, and decided to go for a electronica approach for this one. Hope you like it 😀

Subaqueous (Doctrus original) Popular vote winner

Sadly Indaba is no longer with us to quote Indaba: ‘The Indaba Music community is made of 1.2 million music producers – from emerging artists to Grammy Award winners. We are committed to giving musicians the tools, resources, and opportunties they need to create music in the 21st cenutry.’

This track was inspired from samples provided by Astro Nautico (Converse Rubber Tracks Sample Library). My music writing tends to be very organic and abstract, influenced by many genres, but outputs are often Electronica in nature. Really like how this merged into a watery theme with sonar like sounds and ripping guitars. This came out as a popular vote winning original track from me… Enjoy!

Jessi Malay – Noises (Doctrus Remix)

Wanted to keep the vocals pretty much intact, there are a few tweaks. Put some new driving electronic sound into the bass, melody and percussion. I’m influenced by many artists but often find myself remixing electronica. Enjoy! 😀

This song was written entirely from scratch, using a midi keyboard, VSTs in Ableton Live 9, and my own recorded samples. …It was written specifically for this competition! I’ve gone for a fun and slightly funky summer song, with a catchy beat.
